At ViscoGen™, we use Class IV laser therapy to induce therapeutic healing throughout the body by delivering a specific red and near-infrared wavelength of laser light. Our goal is to help you heal faster and stronger through non-surgical laser treatment with results you can feel.

What is Laser Therapy?

Laser therapy is a non-surgical pain relief treatment that uses focused light to stimulate a process known as photobiomodulation. During photobiomodulation, photons penetrate the tissues and interact with mitochondria and cytochrome c complexes. As a result, the laser advances tissue repair and healing throughout the body by increasing cellular metabolism and decreasing pain and inflammation, helping to restore average cellular production and function faster.

What are Mitochondria?

Similar to bacteria, mitochondria can quickly move throughout our cells when in need of additional energy. The mitochondria can produce the needed energy by growing larger and dividing, thus impacting the cell’s ability to heal at a faster rate. Laser therapy procedures help to stimulate this process for an even quicker recovery.

What is Cytochrome C?

Within the inner membrane of the mitochondria cell, the cytochrome C absorbs light and drives the cellular metabolism. Therefore, the primary focus of the photobiomodulation process is to stimulate this action and increase the production of energy.

What is the Photobiomodulation process?

Photobiomodulation is a form of light therapy that uses non-ionizing light sources, including lasers, near-infrared electromagnetic spectrums and/or broadband light for cell repair. The light absorbed by Cytochrome C in the Mitochondria stimulates an electron chain to increase energy production and heal damaged cells for long-lasting relief.

The Benefits of Laser Therapy

When tissues are damaged, the traditional production of energy occurs within the cells of mitochondria, slowing down the cell’s metabolism as a protective mechanism. However, when used as a pain relief treatment, Class IV laser therapy can provide dramatic results in managing both chronic and acute pain of joints and muscles by eliminating pain, promoting tissue regeneration, and healing injuries. We at ViscoGen™ believe in using this method to help our clients get back to what they love best; being active and healthy.

Our medical practitioners at ViscoGen™ concentrate the laser light energy onto the affected area of damaged tissues using advanced imaging. The light energy is then absorbed and stimulates the blood and oxygen in the areas of pain. The result is immediate pain relief and cell rejuvenation.

Positive Effects of Laser Therapy Pain Relief Treatments:

  • Reduces pain, swelling, stiffness and accelerates healing.
  • Stimulates the tissue, decreases inflammation and scar tissue and promotes rapid healing and tissue repair.
  • Improves circulation and draws oxygen and nutrients to the affected area to create an optimal environment for healing.

Studies have also shown additional benefits from laser treatment for pain that help with conditions such as; but not limited to:

  • Tendonitis
  • Heel spurs
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Ligament sprains
  • Sports injuries
  • Repetitive stress injuries
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Diabetic Neuropathy
